Our Mission and Core Values

Mission and Vision

Walker Center's mission is to foster ecumenical and interreligious communities where people are educated and empowered to work for peace and justice.

We pursue this mission, aiming towards the great vision of beloved community, embracing all of creation.

Core Values

We believe

in embodying and promoting the spirit of welcome
that has always imbued this sacred place.

In that spirit, we believe that creating opportunities for inclusive, vibrant community
is vital to human flourishing today.

We believe that
when people learn and grow together in such community,
powerful things can happen.

And we believe that such learning and growing should be
holistic,
creative,
empowering,
fun,

and should activate rather than hinder our critical thinking about the world.

We believe that peoples of all religions need each other, today more than ever.
That the world needs peoples of all religions
to work together, today more than ever.

We hope that Walker Center will continue to be a place where
connections can be made,
relationships can be forged,
resources and skills can be developed,
spirits can be inspired,
religious commitments can be deepened,
hearts can be opened,
and revolutions can be energized...

all for the sake of that which binds us all together.
